Emme Goes Shopping

This is Emme's first attempts of taking steps! She hasn't been to interested in moving one foot in front of the other, so when she started pushing this cart I was very excited. She still does not want you to hold her fingers while she takes steps; she would much rather crawl to Point B. She is an excellent crawler!

Let's go to the zoo

Last weekend we went to the Dallas Zoo. We thought it was cool enough outside. It wasn't, but we still had fun getting to see the new Giants of the Savannah exhibit, which was really cool! We got to see a lot of the animals up close and personal! It made me a little nervous, but definitely worth it!

Messy Eater

Emme is definitely a hands on eater now and wants to feed herself. Here are a few pics of her attempts to get the food into her mouth. She sure is having fun trying!

Here she was eating bananas and black beans (I got this from frozen baby section of Whole Foods). She didn't really like it, but John and I tasted it and loved it! You could dip a chip in it, yummy!

Crawling

Emme has been up and crawling on her hands and knees now for about 3 weeks. At first she only wanted to crawl on soft surfaces, but will now go anywhere. And I mean anywhere! She has discovered dog bowls, toilets, and corners with dust bunnies! Let the games begin. We are loving it!

P.S. Our apartment kind of looks like a garage sale right now so I apologize! Our fridge that we have only had for a year broke down so we are trying to sell it for next to nothing on Craig's List. It will cost more to fix than we paid for it. And we have tubs to go to storage, which would require us getting a babysitter to do. When we get a babysitter, going to storage just doesn't sound like fun!

Storytime

I think most kids get bedtime stories, but Emme loves to read books when she wakes up! Occasionally John has a break in his day and is home when she wakes up from a nap. I let him do the honors this time of reading books. So cute!

Belated Crawling Post

Okay, so I mentioned quite some time ago that I would upload a video of Emme crawling. 3 weeks later and here it is! I will say that since this video was taken; Emme has become more skilled. She is now getting up on her knees and rocking, but once there is not quite sure what to do so she gets back down on her belly and continues to army crawl.

Happy 8 month birthday Emmeline!

First of all, happy 8 month birthday Emme! You are getting to be such a big girl!

Secondly, I apologize for not posting more to this blog. I will try to be better, but I may look into other avenues of updating everyone with pictures and information. I am not sure if blogging is my thing. :)

My serious sweetie can now sit up all by herself. She has actually been doing this for probably over a month or maybe two, but it has been so long since my last post! Bad mama. Oh yeah, she can say mama now too!! This is recent as of the last few days. She is also pulling herself across the floor with her arms! I am not sure if you would define this as crawling, but it is a mobility of some sort. It does get her from A to B in very short distances. I keep trying to tell her if she would use her legs she could go a lot faster and a lot further, but she doesn't listen! Oh silly Emme. I have video of this that I will post as soon as I can figure out why my Flip camera isn't wanting to upload videos. Oh technology.

If you zoom in on this pic, you may just be able to see her first tooth on the lower left. This came in about 3 weeks ago, but I still don't think it is fully in yet.

Happy 6 month birthday Emmeline!

Today Emme turned 6 months old! It is hard to believe that this precious baby has been in our lives for half a year. We had such a good day, well, weekend actually. Yesterday we celebrated her cousin Lane's 1 year birthday, which was such a blast! It was rock star themed, and Ellen did such a good job; it was precious. For Emme's birthday it was a little more low key. We just hung around the house, and then as a family we all went to the mall just to toot around. It was a wonderful rainy Sunday.

Charlie came to the party! Notice that his left ear is missing; it is in Emme's hand being yanked! He is surprising me so much with his behavior towards Emme. He did not react in any way to this tugging. He wasn't a fan, but he allowed her to pet him. Good boy Charlie!

Emme's favorite expression as of late. Her tounge is almost always sticking out. It is so funny!

I was going to crop myself out of this pic, but then I thought no. This shows what the priorities are in the house. Emme first and foremost! Our pride and joy.

High Chair Maiden Voyage

Now that Emme is really starting to get into her cereal, we decided it was time to break out the high chair. She loves to take a bite, then stick her hands in her mouth and rub it on her legs. We are really having fun with this new step! This is probably the cleanest anyone will ever see this chair.
By the way, it is currently not in "high" chair mode. It has 3 or 4 levels to adjust for height. This height allows me to sit on the couch and feed her. When she is really into solids, I want to incorporate taking her to the table so that we can have a family meal!



I am eating and working on my abs at the same time! Daddy is proud. Actually she is just about done and ready to get out.

Emmeline modeling Vogue fashion!

Well, not quite yet, but the Halo Sleepsack is all the rage in baby sleep fashions! The below photo was taken from the 2010 Rooms Babies Love JC Penney catalog. Emme posed this pretty pose last December, and the catalog just came out! If you would like a copy, you can go to your nearest JC Penney store or you can request one online at jcp.com. I think I will be heading to the JC Penney at the Parks Mall this weekend to swipe their stash, so I may have copies to pass out soon. We are so proud of our little model baby!

Say Cheese!

Kelly Williams, a photographer in our building, wanted some infant photos to include in her portfolio, and we volunteered Emme to be her subject! In return, we got tons of super cute photos of Emme! Here is a little taste. John took her for the pictures this afternoon, and they had a blast.

Snow Day!

Well, we didn't think we would ever get to use Emme's pink suede snowsuit (courtesy of Ashley), but guess what, it snowed major in Dallas! It's 0-3 months, but very huge, but it kept Emme nice and warm.

Our friend Saul is a big fan of comic books, so John photo shopped this image of Saul and Emme. Pretty cool, huh? Have I mentioned that Photoshop is John's latest hobby? He is getting pretty good.

Ok well, not quite yet. As you can see, her feet do not even touch the ground, but towards the end of the video she gives the biggest smile that is just too cute! Pardon me for making a fool of myself with my sounds, but I will do anything to make her smile! Any day she is going to give us a laugh.

Emme is Sitting Up!

Well, not really, but the bumbo chair gives her the appearance that she can sit up. In all honesty, she is really not even lifting her head too much. She'll get there.
