Bathtime with Emme

My absolute favorite time of day with Emme is bathtime! We can't believe how big she is getting. Smiles are almost guaranteed now right after getting out of the bath, so we finally got them on camera.

Here she is right before she did #2's in the bathtub. Oh silly girl.

Melts your heart.

I can't put my arms down!

John wanted to take Emme out for a walk with the dogs this morning. Being the overprotective mother, I suggested she put on her winter outfit. I thought it was freezing, but John said he could have gone out in shorts because it felt so great. I don't know about that, but she sure looked cute!

Play time

Emme is starting to enjoy a little, and I do mean little play time. Early in the morning, and occasionally in the afternoon, she seems alert, kicking and stretching, and eager to take in her surroundings. These are my favorite times of the day. It is so cool to see her taking it all in.

4 Weeks Old, A Day at the Park

For Emme's birthday, she requested we go to the park. John and I took her to the park near Regan's house for lunch and to just enjoy the pretty weather while it lasts. Happy birthday Emme!

Getting out of the house

After two weeks of being cooped up in the house, we just had to get out! After our two week visit at the pediatrician, we had a nice lunch with Erin, Max, Maddie, and Vicki and then went to the Arboretum for a nice breath of fresh air. Later last week Elley and Lane came for a visit and we went to the zoo and the arboretum. What nice weather we are having so far this November! Loving our stroller too. It is super nice!

Cousin Maddie meeting Emme for the first time. She thought she was a little baby doll, and was puzzled when she began to cry. So cute!
Dallas Arboretum pumpkin patch. Next year we will be able to get out and maybe even walk around! This year, getting out of the car seat is more than what it is worth. Emme doesn't like it!

Penguin house was a cool place for a nap. We thought we might just stay there all day.

Emme is 11 Days Old

Here are a few pics from the past week and a half from us being home. We are settling in, and figuring out what works and what doesn't. We figured out last night that Emme sleeps much better in her swing, so now her swing is in our bedroom. Makes the night much easier! I am so glad we got a swing that plugs in to the wall.

On our way to the first pediatrician visit - 3 days old

Patiently waiting for Dr. Melici

Aunt Regan and cousin Logan LOVE Emme!

Cousing Max thinks Emme is "AWESOME"! He would not use her restroom because it looked like it was for girls only.

See those feet? These were what was digging into my rib cage the last trimester. They are much cuter out of the womb. Don't ya wanna kiss those toes?!

Miracle swing.

Some more pics of Emme's Birthday

Here are a few pictures from THE BEST day of our lives.

Emme found out that Aunt Sharon was in town for the weekend and she just couldn't wait to meet her!

Emme loves her Great Grandmother.

On her way home! Grammy and Aunt Elley searched high and low for a preemie outfit for little Emmeline. They even found a preemie bow!

4 more weeks to go...woops, she's here!

Emmeline Hart Benton made her surprise debut on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 3:49 P.M. She weighed in at 5 lbs. 5 oz. and 18" long. It all begin on Saturday evening as I was on her bathroom counter hot gluing butterflies to her mirror (Extreme nesting phase). My water broke and needless to say, I was freaking out. John was in the living room with Jay playing Call of Duty 4, what else is new? I had just finished packing the overnight bags moments before, so we were ready to go and out the door we went! We are overwhelmed with all of the love we fill for this precious little person. She is absolutely amazing. These are pictures I stole from Aunt Elley's blog, but I promoise to upload some of my own soon. I am also overwhelmed with all of the new things to do in my life (reminding myself to sleep) that it is hard to find the time. Love to you all!

Emme's Nursery is Coming Together

We have her nursery furniture! John and Ben asssembled on Friday night, and my mom and I spent Saturday putting everything in her drawers and decorating. I must say it has turned out pretty cute. There are just a few more small touches I want to do before it will be finished. We will also have a nightstand coming in about 6 weeks. Next all we will need is Emme!

The Beginning

Well, here it is. The first post on our new site that will encompass anything and everything Emmeline Hart Benton. There may be a few other random mentions as other interesting things happen in our lives, but right now....this is it! She is already such an amazing addition to our lives, and we cannot wait for her arrival.

This past weekend we had a 3-D sonogram. She is already so adorable, our little arm sucker.
Emme is currently 28 weeks old in utero, and should be here on or around November 13, 2009. Stay tuned!
